From Tatis To Anthony, Signed Jerseys Hit Auction To Benefit Texas Flood Victims

0

Central Texas is still recovering from the devastating flooding it faced in early July, and a nearby minor league team has put together a unique auction to help raise money for victims.

The San Antonio Missions (Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres) are hosting an auction featuring jerseys from the Center Point High School, Comfort High School, Ingram Tom Moore High School and Kerrville Tivy High School baseball teams–the Central Texas high schools affected by the flooding.

What makes many of these jerseys truly unique collectibles: many were worn (and then autographed) by players from the Padres and the Boston Red Sox during batting practice prior to the Aug. 9 game in San Diego.

So if you’ve ever wanted a true 1-of-1 player-worn and autographed jersey of players from Roman Anthony and Alex Bregman to Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado–and also help out a great cause–this is your chance.

Also in the auction are jerseys worn (and then autographed) by the Missions during their Aug. 9 game against the Springfield Cardinals.

According to auction listings, proceeds from the auction will be donated to Kerr County Flood Relief, and will also help to rebuild a damaged little league field in Ingram Texas, in conjunction with the Round Rock Express (the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate), the Nolan Ryan Foundation and RS3 Turf.

The action is live now and ends on Sunday. You can bid on the Padres jerseys here and the Red Sox jerseys here.
