Update, Aug. 28: Bowman Chrome has now been pushed to a Sept. 24 release date.

Update, Aug. 11: Hobby boxes will feature six 10-card packs and are priced at $289.99 in the preorder, and 12-box cases are $3,359.99. The release date will be Sept. 10. And hobby boxes will feature Roki Sasaki and Roman Anthony:

Bowman Chrome, one of the biggest prospect releases of the baseball card calendar, will be available for preorder beginning Monday, Aug. 11 at noon ET on Topps.com.

Topps has not yet released formats or pricing, but last year’s hobby boxes included two mini-boxes, each with six five-card packs and a guaranteed autograph. The full hobby box included 60 cards with two guaranteed autos and cost about $280.

Topps has confirmed that each hobby box will still include two autographs this year, but has yet to release further information about exact formats or price, nor have they released the full checklist.

What has been announced by Topps: The product will include a 100-card base set and a 100-card prospect set, along with a new set of parallels for cards, including pulsar, fuchsia, blue wave, green wave and black.

While Topps has yet to reveal the actual release date for the product, preorders often fall about four weeks before the actual release, so an early-September debut seems likely (last year’s Bowman Chrome came out on Sept. 11).

An early product photo released on Topps.com indicates the return of the “Spotlight” case hits, along with new inserts called “Max Volume” and “Meteoric Rise.”

It’s likely (but still unknown as of now) whether case hits such as the popular Anime series will return.

What is confirmed to be returning are the “Red RC” rookie redemption inserts. First released as part of 2025 Bowman earlier this year, the “Red RC” cards are potential $20 buyback cards if those players are named 2025 AL or NL Rookie of the Year. They can be traded in for even more if the player goes on to win MVP or Cy Young Awards or is even inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Rookie of the Year candidates Nick Kurtz, Roman Anthony, Drake Baldwin, Agustin Ramirez, Jacob Misiorowski and others were not a part of the Bowman checklist a few months back, so it’s possible their Red RC cards could be a part of Bowman Chrome.

Baseball America will provide more information on 2025 Bowman Chrome as it becomes available, including a detailed examination of the checklist once it’s released.
