Topping our AFL Hot Sheet for week two was Esmerlyn Valdez, the Pirates outfielder who authored one of the most memorable performances in recent AFL memory. Over just five games, Valdez crushed five home runs, punctuated by a towering two-run shot on Sunday night that solidified his status as one of the league’s premier power threats. His season-long numbers after last week were just as staggering: a 2.286 OPS and seven total homers, which is already more than the AFL yearly leader often ends up with.
