Now that the 2025 MLB Draft is over, the 2026 high school class is in the spotlight for major league clubs. With the summer circuit underway, today we release our updated rankings of the top 200 players in the 2026 class.

The 2026 class is the best group of high school prospects since 2023, blending both high-end, impact talent with depth. The top two players in the class are a pair of shortstops in Grady Emerson (Texas commit) and Jacob Lombard, who is uncommitted. Both players look like potential early first-round picks.

How much can we know about a class one year out from the draft? Consider this from our ranking of the top 2025 high school players at this time last year:

  • Four of the top five players were first-round picks. The fifth—infielder Brady Ebel—went No. 32 overall.
  • Six of the top 10 players on the list were first-round picks.
  • Eleven of the top 15 players were day-one picks.
  • Excluding shortstop Steele Hall, who was in the 2026 class at the time, eight of 13 high school players who were first-round picks ranked among the top 13 players.

Certainly, there will be players who will be pop-up guys or move up the list as the 2026 draft nears, but the players at the top of the list are good bets to be early-round picks next year.

Among colleges, Tennessee leads the way with 16 commits ranked among the top 200 prospects, led by shortstop/righthander Cole Koeninger and righthander Gary Morse. Next with 14 commits in the top 200 is Vanderbilt, which leads all schools in both top 100 recruits (nine) and top five recruits (seven), displaying an exciting balance of both hitters and pitchers. Texas is right up there with a case for the best 2026 recruiting class in the country, boasting 13 recruits in the top 200, seven in the top 100 and four in the top 50. LSU has 11 commits in the top 200 players, while Stanford and Florida each have nine.

Below, you’ll find our latest ranking of the top prep prospects in the 2026 draft class with scouting reports on all 200 players.
