By 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 18, all 30 MLB teams must set their 40-man rosters in advance of the Rule 5 draft, which is scheduled for Dec. 10.
For Rule 5 protection purposes, most international and high school draftees from 2021 are first-time eligible this year, while college draftees from 2022 are also eligible for the first time. The exceptions are 2022 high school and international signees who were 19 or older at the time of their signing, both of whom are also Rule 5-eligible. Any player whose contract was voided and renegotiated is Rule 5 eligible every year going forward.
With many moves set to occur Tuesday, here’s a look at where each team’s 40-man roster stands as of 1:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 17. These roster numbers are taken from MLB, but it’s always possible that a move may not yet be reflected, so consider this a snapshot in time. With the non-tender deadline coming up, a team sitting at a full 40 players right now could easily end up with several roster spots coming open to add other players tomorrow.
