Gallaher last year was a key piece of North Carolina’s College World Series team, slashing .314/.392/.491 with 15 extra-base hits and 38 RBIs. He picked up right where he left off this spring and was the hottest hitter in the country in the postseason, slashing .325/.409/.603 with 13 doubles, 17 home runs and 68 RBIs across 61 games. Gallaher’s pure hit tool is solid-average, and he’s a bit susceptible to miss and chase against spin, but he does have present bat speed with comfortably above-average power to the pull side. He has enough arm strength to play third base, but his actions—particularly his game clock—are a bit suspect right now, and he could eventually slide over to second. -
School: North Carolina Committed/Drafted: Never Drafted. Age At Draft: 22.0
Gallaher has been a consistent offensive presence in North Carolina’s lineup since he got to campus as a freshman in 2024. In two years with the Tar Heels, he has hit .321/.402/.557, and after hitting eight home runs as a freshman, he got the ball in the air more frequently in 2025 and homered 17 times. A 6-foot-1, 190-pound righthanded hitter and third baseman, Gallaher has a solid blend of contact skills and pullside power. He made strides in the strikeout department as a sophomore. While his exit velocity data with metal bats is strong, Gallaher did play 24 games in the Cape Cod League in 2025 and saw his power back up. He has enough arm strength for third base, but his actions and game clock will need to improve.
