  Matthews has huge power upside from the left side of the plate. He sets up with an open stance, loads his swing with a sizable leg kick and uses his whole body to generate explosive bat speed. With his physical 6-foot-4 frame, strong hands and forearms, Matthews will flash big raw power that could end up a plus-or-better tool in his prime. Matthews will show that power in games at times and could unlock it more frequently if he’s able to generate more loft with his swing. There is some swing-and-miss that comes with his full-throttle swing, so it’s a likely power-over-hit profile. Matthews is a corner outfielder whose plus arm fits in right field.
