Schutte has a strong, physical build for his age that yields power stuff. He has a strong lower half and a delivery with some effort to produce a fastball that has touched 95 mph with solid strike-throwing ability for his age. Schutte throws a curveball and slider with tight spin on both pitches in the 2,400 to 2,800 rpm range. His breaking balls aren’t consistent in their shape or sharpness, though he has the raw spin that bodes well if he can refine those pitches. Schutte will mix in an occasional changeup, but he mostly leans on his fastball and breaking stuff.
