Van Engelenhoven has a tall, projectable build at 6-foot-5, with the space to fill out and eventually add to a fastball that has touched 93 mph from his low three-quarters slot. His best pitch is his low-80s slider, which snaps off with sharp, sweeping action and tight rotation above 2,900 rpm at times to miss bats with above-average potential. He throws a mid-80s changeup, but it’s mainly a fastball/slider attack.
