Lewis exploded onto the scene last spring at Butler and hit .377/.436/.618 with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 51 RBIs en route to taking home Big East Freshman of the Year honors. After entering the portal and committing to Wake Forest, Lewis didn’t miss a beat and enjoyed a career year to the tune of a .376/.482/.602 slash line with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 59 RBIs. He has a strong build, especially in his lower half, and has a simple operation in the box in which he takes a direct path to contact. Lewis’ swing is as smooth as butter, and he has an all-fields approach to go along with a knack for being on the barrel. He profiles as a hit-over-power bat when all is said and done, but he has shown the ability to drive the baseball into either gap. Lewis spent most of his time this spring at the hot corner, but he’s a below-average athlete and will almost certainly end up at first base. -
