Drafted: Never Drafted
Becker this year was the centerpiece of Virginia’s offense and hit .368/.453/.617 with 31 extra-base hits and 52 RBIs across 50 games. Becker has a simple setup in the box and a smooth, lefthanded stroke in which he takes a direct path to contact. He has a hitterish look and sprays line drives all over the field. He’s a hit-over-power profile, but Becker has present thump and has shown a rather impressive ability to drive the baseball into the opposite field gap. His under-the-hood data is appealing, and this season he posted a 90th percentile exit velocity of 106 mph. Becker also has an advanced feel for the barrel, and his hard-hit rate was an impressive 55%. If Becker is able to pull the ball in the air more—his air-pull rate this spring was just 22%—an increase in game power should follow suit. -
School: Virginia Committed/Drafted: Never Drafted. Age At Draft: 21.2
Becker has been a centerpiece of Virginia’s offense since the day he stepped on campus. As a sophomore in 2025, he did so while moving into the team’s everyday shortstop role. A 6-foot-3, 190-pound lefthanded hitter, Becker has a career .366/.459/.637 line with 27 home runs and 30 doubles in his two college seasons. He has a simple setup and a smooth, lefthanded swing that goes directly to the ball and leads to plenty of line drive contact all over the field. Becker has a hit-over-power offensive profile, but there’s has some potential untapped power potential in the tank if he’s able to get the ball in the air with a bit more frequency. Becker is a fine defender at shortstop but not a flashy one. He also has experience at second and third base. With Team USA in 2025, Becker played third base in deference to Roch Cholowsky and—like the entire national team—struggled offensively against Japan.
