2027 Top High School Draft Prospects

Aug. 1 is here, marking the starting date for college coaches to officially begin contacting players in the 2027 class.

It also means it’s time for Baseball America’s new rankings of the top 100 players in the 2027 class, a group of players who will be priority names for the top college programs in the country and for scouts as the 2027 MLB Draft gets closer.

While there are a handful of players on the list who already have college commitments made prior to NCAA rule changes limiting college coaches contacting players until Aug. 1, the majority of the top 100 players in the country remain uncommitted.

The No. 1 player in the country is Dylan Seward, a switch-hitting shortstop from California with a terrific blend of tools, skills and instincts in all facets of the game. Like most years for players at this stage, the top of the list is heavy on position players. But there is a significant amount of high-end pitching at the top of the 2027 class, too.

One player not on the list is Rocco Maniscalco, a switch-hitting shortstop from Alabama who had ranked as the No. 9 player in the class. He would have remained in the top 10, but he has reclassified and will now be a 2026.

Below, you can find the top 100 prospects in the 2027 class, featuring scouting reports on every player.
